2025 Stakeholders Conversations on Migration and Development

Magandang GenSan! 🐟☀️💛

The first leg of the 2025 Stakeholders’ Conversation on Migration and Development successfully wrapped up last April 25, 2025, at Greenleaf Hotel, General Santos City.

The event brought together various government agencies and CSOs under the Migration, Environment, Peace, and Development (MEPD) network to discuss the migration landscape in Region 12, highlighting the experiences and challenges of migrant fishers, one of the most vulnerable yet often overlooked sectors.

The forum emphasized the urgent need to spotlight their stories and push for policies that protect and empower them. Participants shared strong commitments and key policy recommendations that we hope will soon be translated into actionable plans and concrete results for affected communities.

With our MEPD CSO networks and agency partners, we continue to uphold the dignity of migrant workers and promote safe, fair, and rights-based migration for all.

📍Next stop: Caraga Region! We’re excited to continue these meaningful conversations and engage with even more partners. See you there! 💙🧡
