Mindanao Migrants Empowering Actions, Inc. (MMCEAI) was formed in 2007 through the collective efforts of women activists, youth, lawyers, academicians, local legislators, former OFWs, and migrant families who recognized the growing vulnerabilities of migrant workers, particularly women, amid increasing international labor migration.
The organization was established to respond to migrants in distress, promote migrant rights and protection, and strengthen the participation and empowerment of migrants and their families.
MMCEAI is presently based in Davao City, a strategic center for civil society advocacy in Mindanao. From this base, it envisions expanding its work across Mindanao and the Bangsamoro, particularly in key migration corridors and areas vulnerable to illegal recruitment and trafficking, including Davao, Zamboanga, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, and Butuan, and the regions of BARMM, Caraga, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Western Mindanao.
Today, MMCEAI continues its commitment to advancing safe, dignified, rights-based, and empowering migration, while addressing migration in relation to livelihoods, gender, climate change, peace, governance, and sustainable development.
It was accredited with the Philippine Securities Exchange (PSEC) in Davao City on April 10, 2008, with SEC Registration #CN20082709.
