Public Education on Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons

The St. Joseph the Worker Parish-Montevista, in collaboration with the Mindanao Migrants Center for Empowering Actions, Inc. (MMCEAI), together with the Migration, Environment, Peace, and Development (MEPD) CSO Network Davao and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) RO XI, conducted Public Education on Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons (AIRTIP) today, September 12, 2024, at Purok 2, Barangay San Jose, Montevista, Davao de Oro. Thirty-eight (38) individuals from different GKKs and organizations in the said parish actively participated.

This activity aims to educate the community about illegal recruitment and trafficking in persons, learn about the legal modes of working abroad, and know the tips to prevent IR-TIP. This activity was made possible with the support of Rev. Fr. Themistocles T. Tuyac, Jr., Ms. Lina Sescon (Migrants Ministry Coordinators), Ms. Elsa Cantrall (MEPD Davao partner), LGU/BLGU of Montevista, and AWO International.
